Of all professional school options, the most competitive, high-stakes admission is currently is the Master of Science in Physician's Assistant/Associate program.  This is primarily because PA school gives practitioners the option of moving into a profession where they can diagnose, prescribe, and treat under the supervision of a physician -- without residency. In other words, it takes approximately half the time to attain a the PA credential than what it takes to complete Medical School. If you were to ask an undergraduate why they are looking at being a PA, the answer usually comes down to time and money.

That being stated, less than 20 percent of applicants to PA programs were admitted in 2021 and 2022. The number of slots in a PA program is generally small -- with a massive (and growing) number of applicants.
